Tree surveys for developers, councils, housing providers, schools, estates and tree surgeons.
Different clients, different evidence. A planning officer, a housing asset manager and a school governor all need to trust the same survey, but none of them needs the same document. Pick your position below.
Developers and Planning Consultants
The trees are rarely the reason a scheme fails, but they are frequently the reason it is delayed. We work to the programme, not around it: constraints early enough to influence the layout, impact assessment written to answer the officer directly, and a method statement your contractor can build to.
A validation request, a planning condition to discharge, or a layout that needs testing against the trees before it goes any further.
Local Authorities and Highways
Authority tree stock is judged on the inspection system as much as the individual tree. We build programmes that survive scrutiny: consistent data capture, target zoning that reflects real occupancy, and inspection intervals with written reasoning behind them.
A new inspection cycle, a claim, an audit finding, or a stock inventory that has drifted out of date.
Housing Associations and Housing Providers
Dispersed stock across hundreds of addresses is a data problem before it is an arboricultural one. We survey it in a structure your asset system can hold, so next year is an update rather than a fresh start, and so the works schedule maps cleanly onto your contractor programme.
A resident complaint escalating, an insurer request, or a planned maintenance cycle needing evidence to price against.
Schools and Education Sites
Target occupancy is the defining feature. Hundreds of people in a small area at predictable times, much of it directly beneath the canopy at break and pick up. That concentration raises the risk numeral on trees that would be unremarkable elsewhere, so the inspection interval has to be justified against actual use rather than site size.
An insurance or trust requirement, a governors question, or storm damage during a closure period.
Heritage Estates and Veteran Trees
Here the tree usually matters more than the target. Veteran and ancient trees carry ecological and historic value that cannot be replanted, and they are frequently protected as well. The work is about finding the least intervention that manages the risk, not the safest one, and having the evidence to defend that choice.
Visible decay on a landmark tree, a consent application, or a management plan falling due.
Tree Surgeons and Arborist Teams
Independent thorough examination by a competent person with climbing experience on the same kit. Examinations are practical, done on site where possible so gear stays in service, and reported item by item with an inventory you can hand to an auditor.
An examination falling due, a new contract requiring evidence, or an HSE or client audit.
Homeowners and Private Estates
Usually one tree and one question, and usually a straight answer is enough. We will tell you when a tree is fine, and a second opinion on a felling quote is a common instruction. Where a report is needed for a mortgage, insurer, neighbour or council, it is written to be read by them.
A lender or insurer retention, a neighbour dispute, storm damage, a protected tree you need work on, or a felling quote you want a second opinion on.
